“Not Ourselves but the Cause”

The Daughters of the British Empire (DBE) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit American society of women of British or Commonwealth birth or ancestry. We share and promote our heritage while supporting local charities and our senior living facilities across the United States.

We Stand for Inclusivity

Through every change in our 110+ year history, we have known one constant - our sisterhood standing hand in hand. Women of all races, nationalities, creeds, colors, faiths, and beliefs stand together here in friendship and charity. Joined by our common bond of the Commonwealth of Nations, we learn from each other and grow closer together through every struggle our world faces. It is this truth that has laid the foundation of our first century. What will you bring to our second?

Duke of Edinburgh Award USA 2021

With the passing of HRH Prince Philip, The Daughters of the British Empire in the USA wished to recognize his lifetime of service to the Commonwealth. A donation was made in his honor to The Duke of Edinburgh Award - USA as this program was so dear to him. This wonderful organization whose goal is to inspire young people to find their purpose, passion, and place in the world, is currently helping young people recover from the strictures and stresses of COVID while also helping their communities. If you would like to find out more about volunteering or donating, please visit their website, Facebook, or Instagram for more details.

A Proper DBE Podcast

Our members continue to volunteer tirelessly for the good of both local and national communities, including our retirement homes across the US.
