Founded in 1985…

The DBE in North Carolina was founded in 1985 by Past National President Rena Platt. The club has maintained a constant presence in the Raleigh area since then and now is proud to have an additional Chapter in Greensboro led by another Past National President Libby Peters.

We continue to support the DBE’s main focus by raising funds throughout the year and donating to local causes that support the elderly, women, and children.

Currently, North Carolina has two Chapters. House of Raleigh, based in Raleigh, and Agatha Christie Chapter based in Greensboro. We are approximately 40 members strong and growing. Big hearts and passion in all we do.

We participated in the Queen’s Green Canopy initiative and love visiting the oak tree we planted in the Elizabethan Gardens in Manteo on the coast.

We love to explore our state and enjoy visiting our favorite shopping places and gardens. We love our afternoon tea, sharing stories and experiences!

Our leadership team is active in the DBE National meetings and fully engaged in our community. We partner with the British Embassy’s office, British American Business Council and Raleigh Sister Cities organizations for major events.

We celebrated Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee, and King Charles III and Queen Camilla’s Coronation with official Afternoon Tea’s at the Executive Mansion in Raleigh.

We mix the fun with fundraising – we’d love to hear from you! Please email us at DBEinNC@gmail.com and join us!
