Daughters of the British Empire (DBE)

Dear Members, Friends and Visitors,

As the National President of the 32nd Administration DBE– the National Society Daughters of the British Empire in the United States of America – welcome to our website. We are a national philanthropic 501(c)(3) American Society of women of British or British Commonwealth birth or heritage. We welcome British and Commonwealth women living in the USA, either permanently or for long periods of time or, if you or your ancestors were British or of British Commonwealth heritage, we would love to meet you. We also welcome women whose husbands or partners or their ancestors are British or of British Commonwealth heritage.

The DBE is a non-profit, philanthropic organization, the main beneficiaries of which are our four retirement homes for people of all nationalities based in Brookfield, Illinois;Ossining, New York; Houston, Texas and Sierra Madre, California.  Our members also enjoy a special camaraderie that comes from our common heritage. We enjoy celebrating all things British and host numerous social events throughout the year to commemorate key dates on the UK and Commonwealth calendar and to remind us of our homeland.

Our membership is comprised of a diverse group of ladies from many different backgrounds but with a common heritage and common philanthropic cause. So whether you are a professional business woman or a stay-at-home mum, a bread-winner or a bread maker, a long-standing expat, are newly arrived to the U.S., or were born here please browse our site to find out more about the DBE.
